Patrick tests a one-millimeter textured sunflower print on a clear iPhone 17 Pro Max case using the xTool O1 Omni. After scanning and aligning the case, he works through the texture settings and checks how the raised design will wrap near the flexible edges.
The full textured version is estimated at 37 minutes 52 seconds and about 47 cents of ink. A smaller textured layout reduces both figures, while a flat version falls to roughly five and a half minutes and only a few cents of ink, making the production tradeoff easy to see.
The finished raised print has visual and tactile impact, but it also occupies the printer far longer and introduces more edge and handling concerns. Patrick concludes that the effect fits premium one-offs, gifts, or limited runs better than an everyday high-volume phone-case listing.
A rough $30 marketplace example illustrates how selling price alone can hide the real decision. Platform fees, shipping, packaging, labor, failed prints, taxes, overhead, and nearly 38 minutes of unavailable machine time all belong in the calculation before calling a textured product profitable.
