Patrick revisits one of Created Workshop’s most consistent products: a personalized wooden-handled hammer. Common hardware-store hammers cost roughly five dollars in his example and sell for about twenty, making them approachable gifts for Father’s Day, birthdays, anniversaries, and shop owners.
After removing the retail labels, the hammer is placed in the xTool P3 and scanned for precise artwork placement. Patrick notes that the same method works on many CO2 and diode machines because the actual requirement is simply a laser capable of engraving the wooden handle.
His example uses a standard wood setting of 600 millimeters per second, 40 percent power, and 160 lines per centimeter. The engraving takes about two minutes, and the light soot left on the prefinished handle cleans up quickly with a damp melamine sponge.
The project’s appeal is repeatability rather than complexity: inexpensive blanks, fast engraving, broad personalization, and minimal finishing. Patrick also points to higher-end hammer kits as an option for increasing the selling price, while keeping the core product easy to understand and produce.
